Todd Carlton

That’s not his real last name (we protect identities).  Actually, I used to call him Mr. Carlton because of this, his unique classic Carlton Catalina, which we have the pleasure of showing you.  Notice the Stronglight cranks with striking cut out ring.  Modern wheels consist of Phil Woods to Deep V’s.  A nice brooks sits atop; the comfy bars are affixed to an older Cinelli stem.  The 1964 Catalina is built into a sweet, easy rider with no lack of performance.  Fixed and respectable.  Catalina is a small desert island off L.A. with a large wild pig problem.  Nothing like this bike.

Chris’s Mash

Chris intentionally took his Cinelli Mash to the limit with strong and beautiful parts.  However, some web site accidentally sent him the Ti railed version of the brooks swallow instead of steel.  Darn.  Paul Flush cranks, Paul hubs laced to Deep V’s.  Deda stem is feather light and stiff.  He kept it real murdered with black ano throughout.  You can have a mash but you can’t have this one.

Bern Helmets

Fantastic all season helmet vented with removable ear muffies.  3 colors including padre’s throw back brown and orange, or bro-range, scheme.

Ride, drink, sleep and wear PBR

NEW CYCLING CAPS.  Yes the drink company that sponsors rodeo stars, enables college student sex and fuels fixie angst is rep’d on a nifty cap.  Handsome.

Wednesday’s bike is full of hope

This is a vintage bmx.  Kuwahara laserlight 3000.  That says it all.  Check out the chrome, the ring, the pads and the original owner’s manual.  $200.

Track Talk

Not trash talk.  There’s a link on the side bar for a discussion blog.  I’m almost afraid to open the lid on this.

Hush Riot shirt offer

This is a sweet hush riot design from 360.  360 is a local shop in Nob Hill run by Rocky Norton, local skate vet, fixed rider and artist.  Cop a free shirt from his shop when you wisely spend $100 boners at Fixed & Free. 360 is located on Amherst just north of Central.  You should swing by.

Wednesday’s Bike

For sale.  This is a nice conversion with fresh paint, swept back bar, both brakes, freewheel, 56 top tube, 58 seat tube.  Rides super nice.  Can’t believe it’s still here for $275.  Blue is friendly and needs a good home.  Potty trained but not good with kids.  Looking for the right person to take care of her – a loner, a rebel.

All City Dropout

All City just published the full specs and geometry for the Dropout, their new trick/polo/etc. frame.  Looks real nice.  Expect to see some in the shop as soon as production models are released.
